Johnny Q. Rasberry, Jr.

Johnny Rasberry is a keen legal strategist with more than 18 years of legal experience. He is an experienced litigator, negotiator and advocate on behalf of his clients. He has dedicated his practice to helping families untangle their most complex legal issues including divorce, custody, child support, adoption, relocation, modification, juvenile court cases and the equitable distribution of marital assets and liabilities.

Mr. Rasberry is particularly focused on the needs of children in family legal battles. Mr. Rasberry was raised in the Memphis metropolitan area and is very familiar with legal practice in West Tennessee. He has successfully handled a wide range of cases including those that one might not immediately associate with the practice of family law, such as cases involving specific educational issues of children including serious disciplinary actions and the special needs of students as required by the law. He is an experienced advocate for his clients whether in mediation or at trial.

Mr. Rasberry is admitted to practice in the major courts of Tennessee including circuit, chancery, juvenile, and the United States District for the Western District of Tennessee. He is available to serve clients in Memphis as well as surrounding areas, including Germantown, Millington, Cordova, Bartlett, Arlington and Fayette and Tipton counties. Although Mr. Rasberry regularly practices in the West Tennessee area, he has traveled across Tennessee to represent and defend his client’s rights in family law matters-an endeavor he is willing and prepared to make should the case require.

He is a graduate of the Quinnipiac University School of Law in Connecticut and the recipient of numerous awards for his legal studies. Mr. Rasberry earned the CALI for Excellence in the Use of Technology in the Practice of Law and was awarded the Deans Award for Academic Excellence. He earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Memphis before attending law school. Johnny has varied interests in his personal life, including chess, scouting, astronomy, developing home improvement skills and the study of several martial arts disciplines including Filipino Kali.

Mr. Rasberry enjoys any activity which helps to hone his ability to quickly anticipate an opponent’s moves or the needs and opportunities a particular situation presents. A wine and food enthusiast, he loves to cook and enjoys wine tastings. Prior to attending Law School, Mr. Rasberry both worked in and ran several fine wine stores and even worked as a Captain in Chez Philippe, the premier French restaurant in the Peabody Hotel.
